Chef Jane Tran

Jane Tran is a Canadian-born, internationally-trained chef. After classic French culinary training at the International Culinary Center in New York, she trained under the Michelin star chef Daniel Boulud at Bar Boulud, NYC, before moving to Bar Boulud in London, England.

With a passion to create her own meals, she left the restaurant industry and traded as bellylondon at streetfood markets all over London, held supper clubs and worked as a private chef for high profile international clients.

Seeking more inspiration, she embarked on an eight-month trip around the world, training at some of the very best tasting restaurants, Gramercy Tavern (NYC, 1 michelin star), Blanca (NYC, 2 michelin star), Central BBQ (Memphis) and Slanted Door (SF), to name just a few. She then returned to the UK to launch foodtech start-up EatFirst, as its Executive Head Chef, creating international inspired dishes and delivering over 500 meals per day.

Now, Jane is back in her hometown and has launched Chau, a modern Asian pop-up restaurant. She also co-founded KitchenNumbers, an online app to help food businesses manage costs.
